3. Where can asbestos be found?
Asbestos can be found in a number of commonly used building products, including but not limited to; roofing shingles, ceiling and floor tiles, paper products, asbestos cement products, drywall and plaster, joint compounds, adhesives, window glazing and mastics.
4. Why is asbestos harmful?
“When asbestos-containing materials are damaged or disturbed by repair, remodeling or demolition activities, microscopic fibers become airborne and can be inhaled into the lungs, where they can cause significant health problems.”
